I absolutely love that movie. I guess it had it's biggest impact at the perfect moment. Saw it when I was 15, starting to question the world and having critical/adult thoughts. The concept was not just new (in that combination and on a commercial level) but mind blowing. The idea is on pair with the technology and innovative special effects. The execution is one of the best if not the pinnacle in the era of 90ies golden age action movies. They were also the first to do Hong Kong action (thanks to legendary choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping) in a big budget Hollywood film. It's a very inspiring cave parable that build an amazing mythology, which was sadly heavily demystified with the fun but unnecessary following movies. One of the smart action movies that changed the film landscape immediately.
